Rest SmartSM
Sitting on a deflated physio ball can help provide balance by allowing a gentle motion of the spine while sitting for extended periods.
Adjust the amount of air in your physio ball so that it is almost completely deflated (1 puff)
Place the ball on the surface of your seat
Sit on the ball so that it is between your sitz bones (bony prominences on each side of your buttocks)
Your feet should rest comfortably on the floor, with your sitz bones resting on the seat.
If you are off balance, readjust your ball by deflating more air
If you are sitting on your sacrum (bony structure at the bottom of your spine) and not your sitz bones add more air to your ball.
TIP: Place a flashlight on your belly button to see if you are in the right position. Place the bottom of the flashlight on your belly button, with the light shining outwards. The light should point directly across or down. If the light is pointing up, you are sitting on your sacrum and need to adjust so you are sitting on your sitz bones.
